AFC-566A Folder

The AFC-566A includes advanced set-up automation through a user-friendly color touch-screen control panel that displays fold formats and sheet sizes for easy selection. Up to two hundred different job settings can be stored in memory, and automated set-up can be accomplished in as little as 14 seconds. Precise stepper motors drive end stops and fold plates to the exact location for the sheet size and fold style selected, 17 pre-set fold styles are featured. The AFC-566A is equipped with 6 fold plates, which allows for a wide variety of folding in a minimum amount of floor space. The AFC-566A can handle a wide range of papers at speeds up to 40,000 sheets per hour.

BQ-470 Perfect Bindery

The Standard Horizon BQ-470 fully-automated four-clamp perfect binder, with its state-of-the-art design and fully-automated setup, is easy to operate with minimal operator training required. It produces up to 1,350 superior-quality perfect bound books per hour, with four clamps that travel on a vertical elliptical track. The BQ-470 is the latest in an expanding line of products that draw on Horizon’s core competence in finishing automation. The BQ-470 binder’s 10.4” LCD touch-screen is used to provide stepper motor-controlled automation to the professional-quality mid-range binding market. The BQ-470 can bind books up to 2.5” thick, and interchangeable glue tanks support both EVA and PUR adhesives to meet varying customer requirements. The BQ-470 perfect binder fits a sweet spot in short-run professional-quality book production with full automation and touch-screen control. And the ability to swap-in a PUR glue tank lets the BQ-470 serve an even wider range of applications, including digital color books.

SPEEDVAC COLLATOR

The 10-station SpeedVAC 100 collator features a patented rotary-pulse vacuum feed system, providing flawless feeding on virtually any stock, at speeds up to 10,000 sets per hour. The system is expandable from one to six towers, with the ability to run the system in both directions at full rated speed. All system controls are centralized on the simple but powerful icon-based touch-screen console. Accessories include single and dual-pile stackers, joggers, stitchers and the Standard Horizon SPF-20 series bookletmakers, offering professional-quality results with high levels of automation for quick, simple changeovers.

STITCHLINER 5500

The Standard Horizon StitchLiner bridges the production gap between existing flat sheet collating / bookletmaking systems and conventional high-volume saddlestitching lines. The StitchLiner eliminates signature folding as offset or digitally printed flat-sheet signatures are fed from the SpeedVAC collator to produce true saddlestitched booklets with full bleed trimming, at speeds up to 11,000 two-up booklets per hour. Professionally finished booklets up to 200 pages (50 sheets) are fully comparable with booklets produced by traditional saddlestitchers. Can also be equipped with the HOF high-speed sheet feeder for digitally collated output (up to 27,000 sheets per hour) with guaranteed document integrity using mark, bar code, or CCD camera verification.
